Destin, Florida Fish
Below are a number of the larger fish we see on the Reefs and Wrecks in the Gulf of Mexico near Destin, Florida. When Spearfishing, we are always on the lookout for Grouper, Snapper, and Jacks & Pompano (mostly Amberjack). Other Tasty Fish include Flounder, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), and Triggerfish. We see Mackerel routinely, but they aren't a favorite menu item. Other Large Fish we see quite often include Barracuda, Spadefish, and Bull Sharks. When we're lucky, we might spot a Southern or Roughtail Stingray, or a Loggerhead Turtle. Spotted Moray Eels are common if you pay attention, and Lobster (Spiny and Shovelnose) hide out under ledges and in the wrecks.
