Note:  All manuals previously posted here have been removed due to liability concerns.

Warning:  You should not service regulators unless you have been properly trained!

A few benefits of knowing how to service your own regs

1.      If you drop your reg in the rinse bucket without the dust cap, you don’t have to pay $40,

$80, or $100 dollars and lose your reg for a day, week, or month.

2.      You may check your IP regularly which may head off a serious failure.

3.      You may save money (depends on how many regulators you need to service and the

cost for labor and parts).  After buying the tools you need, it could take a few years to

break even.  Click here to see the tools I use and how much I spent.

4.      You will know how to adjust your reg for peak performance.

5.      You may save a dive or two (and the cost of the charter boat)

6.      You'll have the satisfaction of knowing your reg was "done right"

The (absolutely) best book on the subject is Vance Harlow's "Scuba Regulator Maintenance and Repair" which is available at www.airspeedpress.com.  Click here for a list of DIY Regulator Service Sources taken from Vance's book (and a few of my own).

Airspeedpress has an O-ring Database which you can reach by clicking here
